Western Television "Empire" in central states
From Western Television's book, "Television, The New Industrial Miracle"

W9XK was the callsign of the scanning disk television station at University of Iowa, Iowa City, in 1930. This was likely the first educational television station in the United States. (An orange tint results from the neon kino tube.)
